teeth x-ray

Is it mandatory to have my wisdom teeth extracted?

There are situations associated with the existence of wisdom teeth, in which cases remove them is essential. Some of these situations are:

  • local or diffuse neuralgias
  • damages to adjacent teeth (caries, bone resorption, root resorption)
  • peristephanitis (inflammation of the wisdom tooth cover with pain, pus, etc.)
  •  causing or aggravating orthodontic anomalies
  • the creation of pathological conditions (cysts, etc.)
  • obstructing the application of partial or full dentures.
It is not guaranteed that an asymptomatic wisdom tooth will not cause problems in the future, the choice to remove or retain should be made after weighing all of the contingencies. Definitely the young age helps to perform an operation that will possibly be smaller in extent and will certainly have a milder post-operative course.
