INTRAVENOUS SEDATION
In our clinic we offer our patients the ability of conscious sedation by an anesthesiologist. It is a safe method of anesthesia performed by injecting pharmaceuticals, with simultaneous monitoring of the patient's vital functions.
In which cases conscious sedation is recommended?
During long operations, (e.g. simultaneous placement of 10-12 implants in the upper and lower jaw) or even in smaller operations, e.g. extraction of wisdom tooth. This procedure is recommended in any case where the patient has previous negative experiences, is stressed and/or afraid. In local anesthesia with sedation, the patient is in a significant mental relaxation and euphoria, so he experiences the operation positively, without realizing its duration. Nevertheless, the patient has the ability to communicate with the doctor throughout the process. At the same time, the possible side effects of general anesthesia are avoided and the patient immediately returns to his social and professional activities.
